Sunday Mornings
As our name would lead you to believe, we emphasize running shoes, apparel and accessories at Bob Roncker's Running Spot. But, more than that, we believe in promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. This can be achieved in many ways other than running. We'd like to introduce a new and enjoyable form of exercise to you, Exerstride Method Nordic Walking.
Exerstriding is achieved by using specially designed Exerstrider walking poles. Unlike normal running or walking, Exerstriding provides a total body workout; one that tones and strengthens the muscles of the upper as well as the lower body. This can be done on any surface and terrain since the poles also provide additional stability and traction. Tom Rutlin, the father of what has come to be known as Nordic walking, has been making and testing Exerstrider poles for over two decades. In our opinion these are the best poles available.
We want to help you get started with this fun activity. You will use," not abuse your body. The Running Spot hosts weekly Nordic walks every Sunday. We want to add a sense of adventure and discovery to the walks. Portions of these urban walks will be on trails. You may think you are familiar with the local terrain. Let us show you what you are missing. Groups will meet each Sunday at 8:00 A.M. at varying locations throughout the city. Check our website calendar for specifics.
Staff members will give brief demonstrations at 7:45 A.M. and allow time for practice. Poles will be available for use during these walks for those interested.
